Richard Staynings joined Cisco in October 2014 helping form a groundbreaking new cybersecurity team to advise and assist Cisco’s most important customers how best to protect their business data and technology assets.
Prior to joining Cisco, Richard lead CSC’s Global Cybersecurity Consulting Practice for the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry where he supported CSC clients in the Americas, Europe and Australia. Outside of the healthcare industry Richard also served as Chief Information Security and Risk Officer for a major global financial services company and for one of CSC’s largest managed security clients.
With more than 25 years experience of both cybersecurity and client consulting Richard has lived and worked in over 30 countries and delivered innovative solutions to clients in all of them.
As a former Vice President of a US security software company, Richard has sat on both sides of the advisory table, and can appreciate views through both conceptual lenses. His approach is to nurture, educate and guide clients into making smart cost-effective and business-justified decisions to manage and reduce enterprise risks, while helping decision makers to put in place strategic and tactical plans towards improved security, privacy and compliance.
Richard has assisted in the success of innovative start-ups, to many of the world’s leading public companies.
