Busy Burr is the Vice President of Innovation at Humana, based in Silicon Valley. Previously, she was Managing Director at Citigroup, leading large-scale innovation efforts as Global Head of Citi’s DesignWorks. Among her many accomplishments there, Busy drove the award-winning, transformational redesign of Citi’s Global Private Bank, recipient of Spear’s Private Bank of the Year and Euromoney’s Best Overall Bank for Innovation awards.
Busy’s inspirational leadership and passion for customer experience has resulted in several new ground-breaking brands, businesses and products at companies like Old Navy, Gap, eBay, Homestead, and Morgan Stanley. She comprises a unique blend of skills that she’s honed as a technology investment banker, VP of Global Brand Management at Gap Inc, Entrepreneur-in Residence at eBay and the Founder and CEO of a Silicon Valley startup. Busy holds patents (some pending) in mass-customization, alternative currency and social payments.
As Entrepreneur-in-Residence at eBay, Busy led the creation of a new social e-commerce platform. She spent seven years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston executing IPOs and M&A deals for the best companies in the technology space. As Vice President of Global Brand Management at Gap, Inc. she led four brands in six countries and managed the efforts that created global branding consistency across merchandising, print, TV, stores and online. She also has C-suite experience as a Silicon Valley CEO and CMO.
Busy has a Master of Business Administration from Stanford and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Smith College. She volunteers as a coach to entrepreneurs at Stanford and as a teacher for Citizen Schools. Busy has been named one of Silicon Valley’s 2016 Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and is a long-time member of the San Francisco Bay Area’s comedy improvisation troupe Subject to Change.
