Mobile Health Apps – Do They Work and Can They Make Money?

In the last few years, we have seen an emergence of “always-on or always-available” healthcare services on smartphones, tablets and wearables. When they are adopted at scale by patients and clinicians, these innovations have the potential to significantly increase patient engagement and reduce costs for our healthcare system. In this session, we will discuss several key factors required for these solutions to reach their potential; including clinical evidence, simultaneous adoption among patients and clinicians, and a viable business model. We will highlight examples of real success stories, where mobile solutions are significantly reducing the cost of care and increasing patient engagement.
